When you submit an request via this website we collect the following:
- Title
- Firstname
- Surname
- Email Address
- Telephone Number
- Postcode
- IP Address
- Other mortgage related information you provide
During the initial appointment with one of our advisors and the application process we will be required to collect lots more of your personal information. In line with our data protection procedure we will only share this information with our recommended lender/insurer/legal representative where required to fulfil our contract to you.
Why we collect your data
We only collect your personal data in accordance with GDPR.
We use the data you provide to provide the service advertised.
Processing your data is necessary to provide you with the service you have requested.
We use Hotjar in order to better understand our users’ needs and to optimize this service and experience. Hotjar is a technology service that helps us better understand our users’ experience (e.g. how much time they spend on which pages, which links they choose to click, what users do and don’t like, etc.) and this enables us to build and maintain our service with user feedback. Hotjar uses cookies and other technologies to collect data on our users’ behavior and their devices. This includes a device's IP address (processed during your session and stored in a de-identified form), device screen size, device type (unique device identifiers), browser information, geographic location (country only), and the preferred language used to display our website. Hotjar stores this information on our behalf in a pseudonymized user profile. Hotjar is contractually forbidden to sell any of the data collected on our behalf.
Disclosure to third parties
We take your privacy seriously, as part of the Mortgage and/or Insurance process we will be required to share your information with our recommended lender/insurer/legal representative.
We may disclose your information to employees of MGI Direct insofar as reasonably necessary for the purposes set out in this policy.
We may also disclose your information if:
- We are required to do so by law;
- in connection with any legal proceedings or prospective legal proceedings
- in order to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights (including providing information to others for the purposes of fraud prevention and reducing credit risk); and to the purchaser (or prospective purchaser) of any business or asset which we are (or are contemplating) selling.
- Except as provided in this privacy policy, we will not provide your information to third parties.
Your information is never shared with any other organisation other than those stated above and all data is stored within the United Kingdom.
As part of the Mortgage and/or Insurance process we will be required to share your information with our recommended lender/insurer/legal representative.
Data retention
We retain our records for at least 5 years under our regulatory obligations, however, your right to be forgotten is processed on a case by case basis.
Should you opt to exercise your right to be forgetten as a multi-service client, we will be unable to fulfil our multi-service contract with you, we will contact you a final time to clarify the position and it's consequences.
Rights of the data subject
- You shall have the right to obtain from us confirmation as to whether or not personal data concerning you are being processed, and, where that is the case, access to the personal data and certain information. (Art. 15 GDPR: right to access)

- You shall have the right to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, at any time to processing of your personal data which is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller or where processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by us or by a third party, including profiling based on those provision. You have no obligation to use this service, however, any information you disclose will be processed unless otherwise stated.

We will take every possible precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal data.
We store all personal data you provide on our secure servers or a repuatable secure cloud service.
Agreement
By submitting your details on this website you agree consent to be contacted by a professional qualified advisor using the contact number you have provided who may discuss your current mortgage or insurance requirements.
The information you submit on this website will be transferred to an agent of MGI Direct, your information will remain with us subject to clause 4 (Disclosure to third parties).
Right to be forgotten
If you wish to withdraw your consent for us to contact you regarding your mortgage needs you may do so by emailing enquiries@yourmortgageadvisor.co.uk and quoting your name and additional details so we can identify you and action your request accordingly.
